James is a registered psychologist having completed his Master of Clinical Psychology from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). James has also completed respective degrees in Psychology and Science from the University of Sydney, University of New South Wales, and University of New England.
Additionally, James currently has an Associate Membership with the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA) as well as memberships with the Australian Association for Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy (AACBT) and the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
James has experience working in several settings, including Community Mental Health and Employee Assistance Programs, providing evidence-based psychological interventions for those experiencing depression, anxiety, work stress, and low self-esteem. He has also worked extensively with the Pain Clinic at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, developing treatment options for those experiencing chronic pain.
James incorporates flexibility, openness, and honesty into his therapy, utilising various evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy and Eye Movement and Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR).
James is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and is currently working towards endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist.
